In 1997 Daniel Kertcher
became captivated
with the stock market. At that time, both the US and
Australian stock markets were beginning to rise quickly.
This rise was the starting point of what would later became known as
the “Tech-Boom”. Daniel Kertcher, nonetheless, knew but nought about the
stock market, so decided to find someone who could teach
him.
His inquiry led him
to two gentlemen situated in New Zealand, Bruce Barnard and
Max Lewis. These two gentlemen each had over 30 years of
share trading and technical analysis experience. Both were
in their 60’s and had established the Society of
Technical Analysis of New Zealand (STANZ), with Bruce
Barnard as the Chairman and President of STANZ.
Daniel believed he
could not have found better teachers! So he temporarily hired the two
gentlemen to tutor him on the stock market. Both men
flew to Australia and spent about a week with Daniel Kertcher, one on
one, tutoring him about trading. Daniel Kertcher was so awe-struck by
them and their knowledge, that he made them an offer them to form a
company with him. Knowing that there were lots of other people
who desired this knowledge. He just had to introduce Bruce and
Max to them. So MetaShare International was born.
MetaShare International opened it’s first office in 1998, located Auckland, New Zealand. MetaShare taught courses on technical analysis and share trading and proved to be exceedingly popular. Quickly Daniel Kertcher had teams teaching courses in other NZ cities and opened the new head office in Sydney in 1999. By 2000, MetaShare had more than 3,500 customers with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland, Sydney. |
